A CHE Success Story

Hello, my name is Marius and by husband’s name is Bruce. We have one son, 8 years old. We have a great family and we love living in our community, helping each other. Four years ago, I met Boursiquot, the Regional Director of CHE, and he introduced us to the CHE program. We had a great conversation regarding CHE (Community Health Evangelism). Until then, we had very little income or other resources to live on. Boursiquot has taught us how to meet other people and partner with them to help each other start a business. We learned how to live our lives and provide for ourselves without depending upon the government for help.

After we received the initial training, our first project was to raise some chickens. We bought 20 chickens and cared for them but only 9 survived. So we ate the other 11 and shared them with our neighbors. But we were not discouraged and for our second chicken project, we received some more training and then bought 70 chickens. My husband and I worked very hard to learn how to help them survive and watch over them. We were able to raise 68 of them to the “for sale weight” and we sold them and made some good profit for our family. On our third project, we purchased 155 chicks and were able to raise 150 of them to the sales weight! This is how we are living and we are very happy raising chickens and selling them. This is a small business but it has been able to help us live better and we can now pay for school for our son and also help others.

We appreciate the CHE program very much and we are happy to be part of this ministry. It gives us a lot of new knowledge and our life has become much better. We have now become CHE trainers and we can even help others to change their life by starting their own business and counseling them. I would like to say thanks to Duckenson and Boursiquot for showing us respect and encouraging us to not give but work hard and become self-sufficient. I also want to thank Pastor Murphy for supporting us and looking over the CHE program. Thank you so much to everyone and may God bless you all. Marius & Bruce & Sonal
